Maru is operated by Bitport Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms govern your use of the Maru app and the maruapp.net website. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Maru.
Maru is a remote downloader and cloud storage service. You submit a link — a magnet link, a .torrent file, or a direct download URL — and our systems retrieve the corresponding file into storage associated with your account. You can then stream it, download it to your device, or delete it.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Maru. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us at appsupport@maruapp.net if you believe someone else has gained access to it.
Transfers are paid for with Maru Points rather than a subscription:
You agree not to:
You are solely responsible for the links you submit and the files held in your account, and for making sure you have the right to download and store them. Maru provides the transfer and the storage; it does not grant you any right to the content itself.
Storage, transfers and streaming are subject to fair use. We may apply limits to, or restrict, an account whose usage goes well beyond typical individual use, or where the pattern of usage suggests account sharing, resale or automated abuse. Where a limit prevents a transfer, the app will tell you.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account, without contacting us. Deletion is immediate and permanent: it removes your account, your stored files, your transfer history and any remaining points, and it cannot be undone.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms. Where we terminate for a breach, remaining points are forfeited and are not refunded.
We aim to keep Maru available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and maintenance may make the service temporarily unavailable. Maru is not a backup service — keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that any given link can be retrieved, that transfers will reach any particular speed, or that stored files will remain available.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits or lost points. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under consumer law that cannot be limited by agreement.
We may update these Terms. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use Maru after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Bitport Ltd. is registered, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute — except where the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
