Torrent not downloading in 1DM? Give it a direct link
1DM is great at normal downloads. Torrents are a different thing. A torrent only moves when other people are sharing the same file, so with few seeders it can sit at 0% for a long time. One way around this is to let Maru do the torrent part in the cloud, then give 1DM a plain https:// link to download.
What changes
Maru downloads the torrent on its own servers and keeps the file in your Maru cloud. Then 1DM downloads that file from Maru like it would from any website. Your phone never joins the torrent swarm. It makes one HTTPS connection to Maru.
Steps
- Install Maru from Google Play and sign up with your email.
- Copy the magnet link, open Maru, go to ADD and tap Paste. If you have a .torrent file instead, tap Upload .torrent file.
- Wait for Maru to finish. Popular torrents are usually ready at once. Others take a few minutes. You can follow it in MY LINKS.
- Open it in MY LINKS and long-press the file. Then either:
- tap Get link to copy the direct link, or
- for files that aren't videos, tap Open with and pick 1DM.
- If you copied the link, open 1DM, add a new download and paste it in. Start the download.
What it costs
Adding the torrent to Maru is free. Downloading the file to your phone uses points: 1 point = 1 GB. You need some points in your account before you can add a link.
Points come in one-time packs through Google Play, UPI included: 250 GB for ₹99, 1 TB for ₹299, 10 TB for ₹2,499. No subscription, and points never expire. New accounts get 10 GB free until 26 Nov 2026.
Other download managers
The same link works in ADM or any other app that downloads from a URL. Paste it where that app asks for a link. The link is for you: Maru's terms don't allow sharing download links with other people.
