Stream a torrent in VLC or MX Player

You don't have to download a whole torrent to your phone to watch it. Maru fetches it in the cloud, and your player streams it from there over a normal https:// link. Nothing is saved on your phone unless you choose to download it.

Steps

  1. Install Maru from Google Play and sign up with your email.
  2. Copy the magnet link, open Maru, go to ADD and tap Paste. You can also tap a magnet link anywhere on your phone and pick Maru, or upload a .torrent file from the same screen.
  3. Wait for it to finish. Popular torrents are usually ready at once. Others take a few minutes. You can follow it in MY LINKS.
  4. Open it in MY LINKS and find the video file.
  5. Tap it to play in Maru's own player. Or long-press it and tap Open in external player, then pick VLC or MX Player.

Using the link directly

If you'd rather paste the link yourself, long-press the video and tap Get link. Then:

Menu names can change between versions of these apps. Look for "stream" or "network" if you don't see them.

What it costs

Adding a torrent is free. Points are used when you stream or download: 1 point = 1 GB. You need some points in your account before you can add a link.

Points come in one-time packs through Google Play, UPI included: 250 GB for ₹99, 1 TB for ₹299, 10 TB for ₹2,499. No subscription, and points never expire. New accounts get 10 GB free until 26 Nov 2026.

Your phone never joins the torrent swarm. It makes one HTTPS connection to Maru. The link is for you, though: Maru's terms don't allow sharing download links with other people.

Want to keep a copy?

If you want the file on your phone for later, copy the same link into a download manager such as 1DM or ADM. That uses points the same way, 1 per GB.
