A Seedr alternative with more space

Seedr is a good app. A lot of people in India use it the same way: fetch a torrent in the cloud, then play it in MX Player. The usual problem is space. If you keep running out of room on your plan, here is how Maru does the same job differently.

We make Maru, so this is our side of the comparison. Seedr's prices below are from its own pricing page on 27 Oct 2026.

Monthly storage vs paying for what you use

Seedr's paid plans are monthly, and each one comes with a fixed amount of storage. Lite is $3.95 a month for 10 GB. Pro is $12.95 a month for 500 GB.

Maru doesn't sell storage by the month. You buy points once through Google Play, and 1 point = 1 GB. Points are used only when you stream or download a file, and they never expire. There is no storage limit while you have points.

Where Maru fits better

Doing it in Maru

  1. Install Maru from Google Play and sign up with your email.
  2. Copy a magnet link, open Maru, go to ADD and tap Paste. For a .torrent file, tap Upload .torrent file.
  3. Maru downloads it on its servers, not your phone. Popular torrents are usually ready at once. Others take a few minutes. Watch it in MY LINKS.
  4. When it's done, play it in the app. Or long-press the file and tap Get link, then paste that link into MX Player, VLC or 1DM.
You need some points in your account to add a link. Adding is free; points go only when you stream or download, 1 per GB.
