Save a Telegram file to the cloud and get a direct link

Telegram is where a lot of files get shared, but a file inside a chat is hard to play in VLC or download with 1DM. Maru's Telegram bot, @maruapp_bot, saves any file you forward to it into your Maru cloud. From the Maru app you can then stream it or copy a direct https:// link.

Connect the bot once

The bot works with a Maru account, so you connect it from the Maru Android app (version 1.0.9 or newer).

  1. Install Maru from Google Play and sign up with your email.
  2. In Maru, open Settings and tap Connect Telegram. This opens @maruapp_bot.
  3. In Telegram, tap Start, then Connect in the Maru app.
  4. Back in Maru, approve it. That's it.

Save a file

  1. Forward any file to @maruapp_bot: a video, document, audio file or photo, up to 4 GB each. Posts from channels and groups work too, albums included.
  2. The bot saves it to a folder named Telegram in your Maru cloud and messages you when it's done.
  3. Open the file in the Maru app. Tap a video to play it, or long-press the file and tap Get link to copy its direct link.
  4. Paste the link into VLC, MX Player, 1DM or your browser.

What the bot doesn't do (yet)

What it costs

Saving a file is free. Points are used when you stream or download it: 1 point = 1 GB. You need some points in your account before you can add anything.

Points come in one-time packs through Google Play, UPI included: 250 GB for ₹99, 1 TB for ₹299, 10 TB for ₹2,499. No subscription, and points never expire. New accounts get 10 GB free until 26 Nov 2026.

The direct link is for you. Maru's terms don't allow sharing download links with other people. To stop the bot, send it /disconnect, or remove it in the app under Settings.
